Jan 26, 2026 - "Compressing Images Nobody Would Notice"
Added Pillow-heif so hero images compress automatically, then spent the rest of the session chasing a better Lighthouse score. This is work with no visible payoff - a fast page just feels normal. A slow one is a site people leave before reading a word. Built the compression into the upload process itself, not as a manual step I'd inevitably forget.
Jan 29, 2026 - "Colour Wasn't Hardcoded Anymore"
Moved primary, secondary and accent colour out of templates and into the page model and Site Settings. Before, changing a colour meant changing code. After, it means clicking into admin. Anything an owner might reasonably want to change belongs in settings, not in a file only I can touch.
