The Video Hub is a page on your shop that shows all your videos in a grid. Each video also gets its own page with the video, a short written introduction, and products and related videos you choose. Because each video page has real text on it, it can be found in search as well as on YouTube.
How it fits together
- You add each video under Videos in your admin.
- You create one page that uses the Video Hub Page template. That page shows the grid.
- Each video's own page is at yourdomain.com/videos/video-title/.
Adding a video
- In your admin, open Videos and add a new one.
- Enter a title. The address is made from it.
- Paste the video link into YouTube URL. Normal watch links, short youtu.be links and YouTube Shorts links all work.
- Write a description: a couple of sentences on what the video covers. It appears under the video as real text on the page, which helps the page rank.
- Choose any related products to show under the video. If you pick none, that section is hidden.
- Choose any related videos to show under it. If you pick none, that section is hidden.
- Set the order. A lower number shows first on the hub.
- Leave Active ticked to publish it. Untick it to hide the video from the hub and its own page.
Staff can preview a hidden video by adding ?preview=1 to its address while logged in.
Creating the hub page
- Add a new page and choose the Video Hub Page template. You only need one.
- Add any intro text you want using the page's content blocks.
- Publish the page.
The grid shows at the bottom of the page by default. To place it somewhere else, add a Video Grid block to the page's content blocks and drag it to the position you want. The grid then appears at that spot, so you can put an introduction above it and a sign-up box below.
Each video page links back to the hub, so visitors can move between them.
Videos inside other pages
You do not need the Video Hub to show a video on a page. Hero blocks, section blocks, a single Video block and blog posts all accept a pasted video link. Blog posts and topic cluster pages also accept video in the editor. See Adding Media To Blog Posts and Content Block Options.
