Pages in your shop are built from content blocks that you add and reorder. This guide covers the options on the Hero, Section, Gallery and Video Grid blocks. For the basics of how blocks work, see Understanding Content Blocks.
The block editor keeps itself short. A Section block shows only the fields for the type you choose, and block groups that have nothing in them are folded away.
Hero block
The hero is the large opening section of a page.
- Title, subtitle and body: the headline, a line under it, and optional longer text.
- Video URL: paste a YouTube link. If you add a video, it is shown instead of an image.
- Image: uploaded in the admin.
- Two buttons: each has its own text and link. Use the second one for a quieter choice, such as "Read the guide" next to "Buy now".
The banner above the hero title
Tick Banner published to show a thin announcement bar above the hero title. It has a small badge on the left (for example New, Update or Featured), a message in the middle, and a link on the right (for example Read more).
Tick Open in new tab to make the banner link open in a separate tab. This is useful when the link goes to a PDF, because visitors keep your site open.
A sign-up on the hero
Tick Use CTA newsletter to show your newsletter sign-up on the hero. Set the newsletter up under Call To Action first. If it has no embed code, the hero shows the built-in first name and email form. If you would rather use your provider's own form, untick the box and paste its embed code instead. See Built-In Sign-Up Forms and Waitlist.
Section block
A Section block is a flexible content area. Choose its type first, and the editor shows only the fields that type uses.
- Text: a title, subtitle and body.
- Two Column: an image beside text. Choose whether the image sits on the left or the right.
- Two Column Text: two columns of text side by side. Each column has its own title, subtitle, body and its own button, so one column can point to a product and the other to a guide. This type ignores the single button fields.
- Text with Video: text beside a YouTube video. Choose whether the video sits on the left or the right.
- Features: a short set of points under a title.
- CTA: a call to action with a title, text and a button.
Gallery block
A Gallery block shows your published images as a grid. Visitors click an image to see it larger, and each image has a Pinterest button so it can be saved to a board. Add the images to the gallery, each with an optional title and caption, and set their order. Untick Published on an image to take it out of the gallery without deleting it.
Video Grid block
The Video Grid block places the grid of all your active videos at that spot on a Video Hub page. See Video Hub.
Newsletter and Waitlist blocks
Both use the built-in sign-up form. A Newsletter block uses it when its embed code box is empty. A Waitlist block is a stand-alone waitlist that is not tied to a product, with its own wording, tag and list. See Built-In Sign-Up Forms and Waitlist.
